Director of Golf
JD grew up outside Philadelphia in Reading, Pennsylvania. Before turning full-time to golf, he played Division I baseball at Penn State University, winning an All-Conference award his sophomore year. He then transferred to West Chester University outside Philadelphia where he graduated with a B.S. in Education in 1994.
His professional career began in 1994 when he began competing in the Philadelphia Section of the PGA while working as an Assistant Professional at the esteemed Lehigh Country Club in Allentown, PA. JD worked his way through the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management program and was elected to membership in 2001 as a Class-A professional.
JD has been fortunate enough to have won several professional tournaments throughout his career and competed in two PGA Professional National Championships as well as the 2010 Miccosukee Championship on the Web.com Tour. He has finished as high as 3rd in the Player of the Year Points List for the South Florida Section of the PGA, which is the second largest section in the country.
Having worked at a number of prestigious clubs in the Southwest Florida area including The Club at Mediterra and TPC Treviso Bay, customer service has always been of the utmost importance to him. JD’s goal is to provide an exceptional golf experience to any and all who make their way through the gates of Esplanade Golf & Country Club and he is thrilled to be your Director of Golf & Wellness.
1st Assistant Golf Professional
Alex grew up in Sterling Heights Michigan, but has called Naples home for the last 6 years. He played varsity golf all four years of High School and played in many junior tournaments across the United States. Before pursuing a career in golf, Alex attended Michigan State University and graduated with a B.S. in Human Biology in 2011.Alex came to Esplanade in 2015 and started as Outside Operations supervisor. He is currently a PGA Apprentice Level I and has passed his Player Ability Test. He is working his way toward his ultimate goal of attaining PGA Class-A certification and is excited about the opportunities that Esplanade affords him. His focus is on providing the best possible customer service to members and guests and his passion is teaching the game he loves so much.
Assistant Golf Professional
Tony grew up near a golf course in a small town in Iowa and has been around golf his entire life. His entire family enjoys golf, including the main influence in his love for the game, his father. Tony played in many youth, high school, and pro-am tournaments, and worked in a golf retail store and driving range while attending high school and college.
Tony attended Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a member of the golf team. He then attended the Golf Academy of America in Orlando, and graduated with a degree in Golf Operations and Management.
Tony has worked in the golf industry in several roles. He has served as an Outside Services Attendant and Assistant Professional at both public and private courses in the Midwest, Arizona and Florida. His parents reside in Naples and Tony returned to the area 2 years ago to be closer to family.
Tony is currently registered in the PGA of America as an Apprentice Level I and has passed the Player Ability Test. He is working toward Class-A PGA Membership. He has given individual and group lessons to players of all abilities and has volunteered at a number of tournaments and events. Tony enjoys the members at Esplanade Golf & Country Club and feels it is a great place for him to grow in his career endeavors. He very much enjoys working at Esplanade and looks forward to getting to know each and every member.
Assistant Golf Professional
Ryan was born and grew up in the state of Delaware and began to develop a love for the game of golf at an early age thanks to his father. By the time he was 14, he earned a presence in the junior golf community, playing in local and regional tournaments. He then played on his high school varsity golf team for all 4 years in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
Ryan attended Wilmington University in the state of Delaware where he majored in Criminal Justice. He also played on the Division II golf team. He then took his passion for golf to the Golf Academy of America located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he graduated with a degree in Golf Operations and Management. Ryan has passed his Playing Ability Test and is working towards to being a Class-A Professional. He took his first job as an Assistant Golf Professional at the age of 21 and has been in the golf industry ever since. He has experience at both public and private clubs, but he is very excited to be at Esplanade golf & Country club where he can purse is dream in the industry.
Ryan’s passion is teaching golf. His philosophy is that no matter what level of golfer, “having fun” should be the #1 priority while learning and playing. He believes by getting the student to be more aware of what they are doing and why they are doing it, they can become their own golf coach. He understands that not everyone is built the same and therefore, should not be asked to swing the same. He works to help players build a repeatable swing that produces measurable and desirable results on the golf course.
Assistant Golf Professional
Dylan grew up in Eustis, Florida and started playing golf when he was five years old. In fall of 2012, he enrolled in the PGA Golf Management program at Florida Gulf Coast University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree. Dylan graduated and was elected to PGA of America membership in 2017.
Dylan started his professional career while in school; working at several different golf clubs in the southwest Florida area. In 2015, he worked as an intern at Countryside Golf & Country Club in Naples before joining the team at Esplanade Naples Golf & Country Club in 2017.
