Lisa LiderI am a Polestar Pilates® certified mat instructor and a licensed instructor for Pilates for Buff Bones®. I have a long background in movement. For many years I was a classical ballet dancer (a soloist with La Scala in Milan, Italy). In 2003 Pilates became the main part of my rehabilitation following back surgery. A short time later, I was diagnosed as having low bone density. This prompted me to start reading about osteopenia/osteoporosis and exercise. Based on my research I understood quickly that many Pilates exercises given in a normal setting are contraindicated for these conditions. As a mat instructor, I have been modifying the exercises for myself. Now with Pilates for Buff Bones® I am ready to offer my expertise.
